Caribou Hunting

Caribou hunting is one of North America's largest and greatest wild game chases. Primarily located in the northern part of the continent and during their annual migration, these hunts are both invigorating as well as exciting. These are the large deer like game that many hunters proudly display as mounts on their walls. But, how does one Caribou hunt, where are the hunts located, and what does it cost to do this? Lets take a look and explore one step at a time, all these aspects of this most rewarding experience.

Where to start? There are many Canadian, as well as the state of Maine, areas to hunt. However, Canada is the primary as well as the preferred location for these types of hunts. There are many camps that offer this wonderful hunting experience. While we are on this certain aspect of this subject, lets take a closer look at some of these camps.

From Newfoundland to Quebec, many hunting camps cater specifically to this and provide everything needed for the successful hunt. Many also boast about their success rates which are rather high thus, basically guaranteeing a kill. A simple search on the internet will provide a bevy of these hunting camps. Their specific information will be listed, therefore check with them for anything that pertains to this. Coincidently, by booking a hunt early, one will certainly save money.

These hunts are generally located in Canada and will take advantage of the migration the occurs each and every year. Canada offers a very thick area of Caribou and most of the hunting camps are based smack dab right in the middle of it. This practically and virtually guarantees that a hunter will at least get a shot off. However, it is the hunter's ability or inability as to whether the animal is hit and brought down. Therefore, if you as a hunter take the shot and miss, it is not the camps fault. Although, tomorrow would be another day and would offer another opportunity.

Two is normally the limit per hunter during these Canadian hunts thus, the opportunity to possibly bring back a trophy for one's wall is very real. The hunting season takes place from August to November and these are hunter limited types of hunts, therefore book your hunt early to ensure your spot within the hunting party.

Licenses generally are in the five hundred dollar range and these hunting trips will normally include this license fee. The cost of the over all hunting trip is usually around three to four thousand dollars. This will include all licenses and fees, lodging, and guide services. The boning of any meat of the animal that a hunter shot is also included too. However, actual butchering will cost extra.

A few things that a hunter would need to take this type of hunting adventure would be any personal item and clothing that, in general, a hunter would need. This includes the hunting rifle also. These camps do however, do request that this gear is limited to a certain weight. So, when considering the Caribou hunting adventures, be sure to explore these camps and their options.
